Rochelle Voyles (she/her) is a queer visual artist, writer, gardener, and witch. She is a trauma and personal growth focused Tarot practitioner based in Brooklyn, New York, whose readings are intricately linked to the act of creating.
Her desire is to use Tarot as a tool to dive deeply into the individual subconscious and clarify opportunities for self-awareness, improvement, and empowerment. She believes that if the individual is healthy and personally aligned, they can better serve and help to shift the greater collective.
Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Pisces, Cancer Rising
Rochelle doesn’t use traditional spreads, and her style of reading can best be described as punk/intuition based; she lays cards in formats of her own making and pulls until it’s clear the cards have nothing more to say. Her devotion to her art practice has her constantly pushing her own boundaries, asking critical questions of herself and of the work, and that mindset translates to how she reads. Honesty and clarity are the pillars of her readings.
She is interested and experienced in working through karmic, religious, emotional, and physical trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and sexual repression. She is invested in cultivating a safe healing space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Aligned with the phases of the moon, and the rhythms of nature; she has held rituals and done some form of spell work for as long as she can remember. She grew up in Ohio with no religious affiliation until she was 13, allowing her to develop a deep connection to the earth and self-create her own spiritual framework. Her first deck came to her at age 14, when she received a tarot reading from a fiber artist and mentor.
She has studied under Jeff Hinshaw, completing two seperate Brooklyn fools: Tarot Journeys, a 6-month Ritual Immersion through the Major Arcana.
Her art work can be found here.
